Another quotable from the Storm Queen...

We've been preparing for both our halloween trick or treating costumes as well as our upcoming Colonial Days celebration in November. This past week we went out and got halloween costumes -- the Authoress is quite appropriately going as Jane Austen, and the younger got a black outfit to go as either a witch, wizard, or some kind of Harry Potter creature. At the same time, we've been discussing costuming of the colonial and pioneer periods, too. I had picked up a pointy hat with stars and moons on it for the Storm Queen, and a floppy white hat to create a Jane Austen hat. After watching me pin the hat to create the right look before decorating with ribbons and flowers, she held her pointy hat to her head and said, "Look, it's a bonnet, too! I'm a prairie witch!"
